Frequently Asked Questions
Cake Pricing:
Nationally, prices range from $3.00 a serving to $15 a serving on the East and West Coasts. Many times a lower per serving price is advertised but there will
be additional per serving costs such as fillings and different flavors.
Kentuckiana's average price range is $4.00 - $7.00 a serving. The price of your cake depends on number of servings, flavor of the cake and the design.
Baking from scratch:
For consistency, we use tried and true mixes for some of our flavors while others are baked from scratch. Those, we've put our blood, sweat, and tears (or more appropriately butter, milk, and eggs) into finding the best tasting recipes available.
The result is delicious moist cakes that our clients rave about.

on the calendar. Dates are not secured until deposit is received.

Cake Delivery:
A delivery charge of $35 applies to all cakes.

Sheet cakes:
We do not do traditional sheet cakes like those offered in grocery stores. For weddings we offer 'kitchen cakes' which look like the wedding cake when cut and served from the kitchen.
Fresh Flowers:
Fresh flowers are a beautiful addition to a wedding cake.
These should be ordered from your florist. Always ask for flowers that have not been sprayed with pesticides or other chemicals. We will arrange the flowers on your cake during set-up.
Sugar Flowers:
These exquisite flowers can definitely add a wow factor to your cake. Sugar flowers are made from gum paste
and fondant. They may be on wires to achieve the look and arrangement. These must be removed from the cake
prior to serving. Considerable time is involved with creating sugar flowers which is why bakers must
charge an additional fee.
Fondant:
Fondant is a rolled sugar dough that forms a smooth
surface when draped over a cake. There are cake
eating enthusiasts who like the fondant and those who pull it off their slice of cake. At Lady A's we use a
generous amount of buttercream under our fondant so
that there is plenty of frosting either way.
Outdoor Events:
If you are planning an outdoor event in the summer, here are a few things to remember:
flies love sweets - chocolate will melt
heat melts icing - fresh flowers will wilt
high humidity will turn sugar flowers limp
